What to expect

The Royal Palace of Oslo is one of the country's most important buildings and a symbol of Norwegian history since 1814. It is situated on a rise, the Bellevue, at one end of Oslo's main thoroughfare, Karl Johans gate. The Palace is owned by the state and is at the disposal of the head of state, where the daily work of the monarchy is conducted and where the King and Queen live. The Palace includes important rooms such as the Council Chamber, the Banqueting Hall, and the King Haakon VII Suite. The Royal Palace is open to the public and offers guided tours, which include exhibitions and visits to some of its most important rooms
