Arctic Circle

The Arctic Circle Center is a tourist center located in a landscape conservation area with nice hiking terrain connected to Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park. The center has a café, a souvenir shop, and exhibitions on art, marble, and Arctic animals, including Europe's largest stuffed polar bear. Visitors can also see a multivision program about the Arctic Circle area and send postcards home with a special Arctic Circle stamp. The center is situated next to the Arctic Circle monument, making it a natural stopping point for those who want to mark their crossing into the Arctic. The area around the center is protected as a national park, and visitors are asked not to build cairns, as this can damage the fragile ecosystem.
