Borg Viking Museum

Museum Bøstad, Nordland, Norway

What to expect

The Borg Viking Museum, also known as the Lofotr Viking Museum, is a historical museum based on a reconstruction and archaeological excavation of a Viking chieftain's village. Visitors can travel back in time and experience the Viking Age in an active and vibrant environment. The museum features the world's longest reconstructed longhouse, where guests can smell the tar and fire, hear local Norse stories, and learn about crafts. The outdoor area is surrounded by magnificent northern Norwegian nature, with old paths leading down to the harbor where Vikings sailed with their ships. In the summer, visitors can sail or row with a Viking ship, try axe throwing or bows and arrows, or enjoy a cup of coffee. The museum also has a rich selection of travel memorabilia and gift items. The Viking Exhibition showcases archaeological artifacts and tells the story of the excavation, while the reconstructed Chieftain's house and Viking ships offer a glimpse into life during the Viking Age
