Skarsvåg is a village in Nordkapp Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway, and it claims the distinction of being the world's northernmost fishing village. The local fishing fleet primarily fishes for cod in the waters north of Magerøya. The village is home to Skarsvåg Church and is located about 14 kilometres from the famous North Cape. A notable attraction near the village is Kirkeporten, a rock formation with a fissure several metres wide in a cliff overhang shaped like a big gate, where the midnight sun shines through between midnight and two in the morning. The views of the rock formation 'Hornet' are breathtaking and can be accessed via a 2.5 km long path
