The Mombacho Volcano is a stratovolcano located near the city of Granada in Nicaragua. It stands at 1,344 meters high and is home to a cloud forest and dwarf forest, containing flora and fauna endemic to the volcano. The volcano offers stunning views of Lake Nicaragua and the city of Granada, and has two hiking trails, including a moderate one that circles the main crater and a more difficult trail that must be led by a guide. The volcano is also home to over 700 different plant species, including many species of orchids. Visitors can also spot howler monkeys, birds, lizards, and the Mombacho salamander, a small salamander that exists only in this place. The Butterfly Garden is another attraction, where visitors can admire beautiful species in a variety of colors
