Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne is a 225-hectare wildlife sanctuary located in Wellington, New Zealand. It is the world's first fully fenced ecosanctuary and is home to many native species, including birds, reptiles, and insects. The sanctuary has a 8.6km pest-exclusion fence that keeps out introduced mammalian predators, allowing native species to thrive. Visitors can explore the sanctuary on their own or take a guided tour, which includes spotting rare birds, prehistoric reptiles, and other wildlife. The sanctuary also offers night tours, where visitors can spot creatures that only come out at night, such as glowworms and kiwi. Zealandia is a great place for families to visit and learn about conservation and the natural environment

Activities: We visited Zealandia, a nature reserve where it is possible to see endemic species. The presence of predators is controlled here and birds and other small reptiles can reproduce and live without fear
Highlights: We could see species that disappeared outside these protected areas. The children were fascinated by the wildlife! ✨
