Wai-O-Tapu is a spectacular showcase of New Zealand's most colourful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of geothermal activity. The area features many hot springs, the Lady Knox Geyser, Champagne Pool, Artist's Palette, Primrose Terrace, and boiling mud pools. Visitors can choose from three walks that take between 45 and 90 minutes, and the natural bush setting adds another dimension to the experience. The modern Visitor Centre has a wide range of New Zealand souvenirs and a cafe with internal and external dining areas
