Wainui Falls is a 20-metre waterfall located in Wainui Bay, within the Abel Tasman National Park. The waterfall can be reached via the Wainui Falls Track, a 3.4 km round-trip bush walk that follows the Wainui River up to the waterfall. The track meanders through a native forest of ferns, nikau palms, and rata trees, and features a suspension bridge and steep drops. The waterfall is a popular sightseeing destination and a great spot for swimming in the summer months. However, the track can be slippery and steep in some areas, and visitors are advised to supervise children at all times. The area is also home to giant carnivorous land snails, including the Powelliphanta snail, which can be found on the forest floor near the track

Activities: We started the day at Wainui Falls, where caches had been freshly placed. We found several FTFs! After three hours of walking, we went to sit by the water, on one of the golden sand beaches in the park
Highlights: The kids were delighted to be able to jump over the crevices and, above all, in the puddles of water! We met a school group on an outing too ✨
