The Organ Pipes is a unique geological formation featuring hexagonal basalt columns that rise out of the ground. The site offers a challenging hike with spectacular panoramic views from the top of the Organ Pipes and Butters Peak. The track is approximately 2km long and takes about 60 minutes to complete one way. The formation is very steep and tricky to climb, requiring great care and adequate footwear. The views from the top are breathtaking, with the Otago Peninsula and surrounding landscape visible on a clear day. The site is suitable for adventurous hikers and those who enjoy scrambling up small peaks
