The Church of the Good Shepherd is a small interdenominational church located on the shores of Lake Tekapo in the Mackenzie District of New Zealand's South Island. The church was built in 1935 as a memorial to the early settlers of the area and is one of the most photographed items in the country. It features a unique design with a large window offering a stunning view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The church is made of concrete faced with stones and has a Category I heritage registration by Heritage New Zealand. Visitors can attend regular Sunday services, and guided tours are available by prior arrangement. The church is also a popular spot for weddings, baptisms, and funerals, and is cared for by a small group of local volunteers
