What to expect

Kastel De Haar is the largest castle in the Netherlands, located outside Utrecht. The castle has a rich history dating back to 1391 and has been rebuilt and restored several times, with the most recent restoration taking place from 1892 to 1907 by architect Pierre Cuypers. The castle features 200 rooms, 30 bathrooms, and is equipped with modern gadgets such as electrical lighting and central heating. The interior is decorated with richly ornamented woodcarving and includes details referring to the Rothschild family, such as the Stars of David on the balconies of the knight's hall. The castle is open to the public and offers a glimpse into its history and grandeur
