What to expect
Zwolle is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands, located between the IJssel and the Overijsselse Vecht. The city has a rich history, with archaeological findings indicating that the area has been inhabited since ancient times. Zwolle was founded around 800 CE by Frisian merchants and troops of Charlemagne and was granted city rights in 1230. The city's golden age came in the 15th century, and it was a member of the Hanseatic League. Today, Zwolle is a great place to visit, with its historic center, museums, and cultural events.
