IJmuiden Beach is a great destination for families, with its wide and clean beach, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and building sandcastles. The beach has several pavilions, including Zeezicht, Zilt aan Zee, Noordzee, Zuidpier, and Makai Beach, which offer a range of amenities and activities. The beach is also suitable for active water sports, such as wind- and kite-surfing, due to the wave current created by the South Pier. Additionally, the dunes behind the beach feature the remains of the Atlantic Wall, a row of bunkers from the Second World War, which can be explored via a bunker route

Activities: We enjoyed a wonderful pause on the beach! The water is very shallow, so it's particularly good for children to swim. We parked near the beach and walked to the Beach Inn. We also took a walk through the nature reserve

Highlights: The wide and sandy beach was amazing! The shallow water was perfect for the kids. We liked the Beach Inn better than the main beach restaurants. "A small playground with three cute colorful figures" was also a hit! ✨
