The Westerkerk is a Reformed church in central Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was built between 1620 and 1631 in Renaissance style according to designs by architect Hendrick de Keyser. The church has a length of 58 metres and a width of 29 metres, with a high nave flanked by two lower aisles. The Westerkerk is one of the first purpose-built Protestant churches and remains the largest church in the Netherlands that was built for Protestants. It features a large organ, the Duyschot Organ, which was built in 1686, and a smaller choir organ. The church also has a gift shop and a 'prayer chapel' called the Burning Bush, designed for prayer and quiet reflection. The Westerkerk is a significant historical and cultural landmark, and its architecture and organs make it a notable destination for visitors

Activities: We climbed the WesterToren, the 85-meter-high bell tower of the WesterKerk. At the top, we could see the entire city in miniature. "We discovered at its feet the whole city in miniature!"
Highlights: We loved the view from the top of the WesterToren. "What you can not miss, even if you do not go to the top, is its carillon which can be heard from afar ringing every hour!" ✨
