The Noorderkerk is a 17th-century Protestant church located in the Jordaan neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The church was built between 1620 and 1623 and features a unique symmetrical, cross-shaped layout, reflecting the ideals of the Renaissance and Protestantism. The church has a Greek cross design with four arms of equal length, annex buildings occupying each corner, and a small tower in the centre. Large Tuscan pillars dominate the church interior. The Noorderkerk is used for Dutch Reformed Church services and is also a popular venue for classical music concerts. The church has a rich history, having served as a place of worship for the common people of the Jordaan neighbourhood, and has been restored several times over the years
