What to expect
Savannah Valley, located in Emmen, Drenthe, Netherlands, is a great destination for families. While the name Savannah Valley is not directly associated with the main attractions in the area, the city of Emmen offers various activities and sights to explore. One of the main attractions in Emmen is Wildlands Adventure Zoo, which features four main areas: Jungola, Serenga, Nortica, and Animazia. Jungola is a jungle-themed area with a large indoor tropical rainforest hall, while Serenga is an African savanna section with lions, giraffes, and zebras. Nortica is focused on cold oceans and features polar bears, sea lions, and penguins. Animazia is a large indoor playground with an aquarium. The city of Emmen also has several museums, including the Center for Visual Arts and the war museum Ergens in Nederland 1939-1945. The surrounding landscape consists of forests, reed and marshland, making it a wonderful place to explore on foot or by bike. The open-air museum Veenpark is also worth visiting, where you can learn about peat extraction and see old peat villages

Activities: In the Savannah stable section, you can look inside the stables at different animals such as the rhinoceros, but what we liked most here is the roller coaster
Highlights: We end up going in three times in a row with our daughter and she also goes in one time all by herself. Nice variety in the animal park we found ✨
