Tengboche Monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located in the Khumjung village in the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal. It is situated at 3,867 meters and is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. The monastery is a significant site for Buddhist worship and cultural heritage in the Himalayas, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The monastery features a combined architecture of Nepalese and Tibetan styles, with intricate wooden carvings, prayer wheels, and colorful Thangka paintings. It is an important stop on the Everest base camp trek trail and is also part of the 'Sacred Sites Trail Project' of the Sagarmatha National Park
