Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site and the birthplace of Buddha, located in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. The site features the Mayadevi Temple, which marks the exact spot where Lord Buddha was born, as well as the Ashoka Pillar, built by the Indian Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. The Lumbini Garden, a sacred area of 2.56 sq km, encompasses over twenty-five Buddhist monasteries built by diverse countries, and offers a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and contemplation. Visitors can walk around the garden, explore the monasteries, and soak up the serene ambiance. The site is also home to the Panditarama Vipassana Center, where visitors can practice yoga and meditation, and interact with monks who live in the vicinity. Lumbini is a significant cultural and spiritual destination, attracting Buddhist pilgrims and tourists from around the world
