What to expect

Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa, is an ancient Newar town in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. It is a city of devotees, known for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal, and stone artwork. The city has a distinctly different form of the Nepal Bhasa language and is famous for its special type of curd called 'Ju Ju dhau'. Bhaktapur has the best-preserved Palace courtyards and old city center in Nepal, and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city is also known for its vibrant festivals, including Bisket Jatra, a New Year festival held in mid-April. Bhaktapur is a treasure trove of history, culture, and artistry, with something special to offer for everyone
