Jemaa el-Fnaa is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter. It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists. The origin of its name is unclear, but it is believed to refer to a destroyed mosque on the site or a mosque with a distinctive courtyard. The square has a long history dating back to the Almoravid dynasty and has been used for various purposes such as public executions, military parades, and markets. Today, it is a popular destination for street food, with smoky grills and lively stalls serving up mouth-watering delicacies. The place is suitable for visitors aged 13 and above
