Jardin Jnan Sbil

Garden Fez, Fes - Meknes, Morocco

What to expect

The Jnan Sbil Gardens, also known as the Bou Jeloud Gardens, are a public garden in Fez, Morocco, located between Fes el-Jdid and Fes el-Bali, the two sections of the old medina. The gardens were created in the 19th century and were originally exclusive to royal elites. Today, they are one of the few rare urban green spaces in the old city and are a popular leisure spot, especially at dusk. The gardens are decorated with colorful fountains and are planted with over 3000 species, including subsections labeled the 'Andalusian Garden', the 'Mexican Garden', and the 'Bamboo Garden'. Visitors can amble through the gardens, taking in the zellij-tiled water gardens, festooned with roses and lulled by tinkling fountains. The gardens also feature historic norias, or water wheels, and a large pool. The gardens are a great place to escape the bustling energy of Fès and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere
