Imlil is a small town and rural commune in Azilal Province, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Morocco. It is a good starting point for a trekking holiday or for climbing Mt Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. The town has a variety of shops and 'pensions' as well as being a base for guides and trekking parties. The Imlil Village Association uses money from tourism to address the problems it brings, like litter, and to start new projects. Imlil is a progressive community and has its own mobile phone mast. The population of Imlil is around 11,175 people, with a mix of males and females, and a range of age groups
