What to expect
El Cuyo is a small port located in the municipality of Tizimín, within the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve. It is a great place to practice ecotourism or adventure, with beautiful natural scenery, including manglares, an ojo de agua, and a bosque petrificado. The area is home to a fascinating flora and fauna, and is surrounded by palmeras, cocales, and majestuosas ceibas. Visitors can relax in one of the villas, or use El Cuyo as a starting point to visit the Ría Lagartos Natural Park.
