What to expect

The François Leguat Reserve is a 20-hectare nature reserve located on the island of Rodrigues, dedicated to protecting the fauna and flora of the island. The reserve is home to over 2000 giant tortoises, including Aldabra and Radiated tortoises, which were introduced to play the role of the original species that went extinct. The reserve also features a museum, several education centers, and information areas, as well as a restaurant. Visitors can take a guided tour through the reserve, which includes a trip through the caves, including the Grande-Caverne, which is equipped with lights. The reserve is also home to the rare Rodrigues Fruit Bat and features a unique landscape of limestone formations, including 9 impressive caves and dolines
