Caverne Patate is a famous speleological site located on a coral plain in the southwest of Rodrigues Island. The cave is over 1000 meters long and features stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can explore the cave with a guide, who will provide insight into the unique rock formations and sculptures. The cave's ceiling and speleothems show remains of black soot from torches used in the past, but today, visits are only allowed with electrical torches. The cave has an elevated trail, but no electric light, and the tour follows the main passage for 700 meters.
