What to expect

Selingan Island is a 8-hectare island and part of the Turtle Islands National Park, located approximately 40 km north of Sandakan. The island is a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. Visitors can observe turtle landings, park rangers collecting eggs, and the release of baby turtles. The island has basic facilities, including accommodation, a café, and a park headquarters. The best time to visit is between July and October when the sea conditions are calmer and the number of turtle landings is higher. The island offers opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the beach. The Turtle Islands Park is home to two species of turtles and has a hatchery where eggs are collected and incubated. The park also has a range of flora and fauna, including fruit trees and coral reefs
