Cameron Highlands is a district in Pahang, Malaysia, occupying an area of 712.18 square kilometres. It is situated at the northwestern tip of Pahang, approximately 90 kilometres east from Ipoh, roughly 200 kilometres north from Kuala Lumpur or about 355 kilometres from Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. The highland is one of the oldest tourist spots in Malaysia, developed in the 1930s, and is known for its cool weather, tea estates, orchards, nurseries, farmlands, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, wildlife, mossy forest, golf course, hotels, places of worship, bungalows, and native inhabitants. The area is also home to several townships, including Tanah Rata, Brinchang, Ringlet, Tringkap, Bertam Valley, Kuala Terla, and Kampung Raja. The town of Tanah Rata is the largest in the region and contains many facilities and amenities, including the district council, banks, and the main hospital, and a taxi station. The climate in Cameron Highlands is cool and wet, with an average temperature ranging from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius throughout the year
