Antsirabe is a town in central Madagascar, known for its cool climate, thermal springs, and lakes. It is situated at an altitude of about 1,500 m, giving it a subtropical highland climate. The town has a population of around 265,018 people and is the capital of the Vakinankaratra region. Antsirabe is home to several industries, including spinning and weaving, cigarette making, and food processing. The town also attracts around 30,000 tourists a year, who come to enjoy its natural beauty and cool climate. The town has several places of worship, including Christian churches and temples, as well as Muslim mosques. Antsirabe is also known for its pulled rickshaws, or 'pousse-pousse', and its thermal bath centre, which was opened in 1917
