The de Woldemer Museum is located in the historic part of the old town of Valmiera, inside the castle walls. The museum's collection comprises approximately 70,000 items, including evidences and materials related to the territory of Valmiera county from the earliest times to the present day. The museum's permanent exhibition 'de Woldemer' takes visitors into the story of ancient Valmiera, showcasing the town and castle's centuries-old history, the worldview of the Valmierians of the past, the might of the Hanseatic merchants, and the skills of the craftsmen. The building also houses the Valmiera Tourism Information Center, where visitors can buy souvenirs with the symbols of Valmiera and Valmiera region. The museum offers various educational programs and events, including seminars and cultural events, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
