The Bunker

The Bunker, located in Līgatne parish, Cēsis municipality, is a secret Soviet bunker that lies 9 meters below the Līgatne Rehabilitation Centre building. The bunker was intended to provide a shelter for Latvia's Communist elite in case of a nuclear war and features an autonomous power plant, air purification equipment, water supply and sewerage facilities, and a telecommunications unit. Visitors can take a guided tour, have a meal in the bunker canteen, and participate in a reality game called 'Object X'. The bunker has been preserved with its authentic equipment and attributes, offering a unique glimpse into the Soviet era. Families can enjoy a 1980s-style meal and explore the bunker's various exhibits, including maps, situation plans, and Soviet memorabilia
