What to expect

The Soviet Nuclear Bunker in Līgatne is a secret underground bunker built in the 1980s to serve as a shelter for Latvia's Communist elite in case of a nuclear war. The bunker is 9 meters underground and has 90 rooms connected by long corridors. It was equipped with advanced equipment to communicate with important sites in Latvia and the Kremlin in Moscow, as well as its own electricity station, oxygen and air conditioning and purification systems, water supply and sewage equipment, and fuel reservoirs. The bunker also has a canteen where visitors can have a 1980s-style meal. Visitors can explore the bunker and see authentic exhibits from Soviet times, including maps, situation plans, and Soviet memorabilia. The bunker also offers a reality game called 'Object X' for adventurous visitors
