What to expect
The Azraq Wetland Reserve is a nature reserve located in the eastern desert of Jordan, covering an area of 12 square kilometers. It is an oasis for migratory birds and was established in 1978. The reserve features artificial springs, a marsh trail, and a rustic bird hide, making it a great spot for birdwatching. Visitors can see various bird species, including the hoopoe lark, Cetti's warbler, and the marsh harrier. The reserve also has a small museum and ancient ruins of an old Umayyad aqueduct.
