Yanaka Cemetery is a large public cemetery located in the Yanaka district of Taito, Tokyo. The cemetery is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms in April, which completely cover its paths, and its central street is often called Cherry-blossom Avenue. With over 7,000 graves, the cemetery is the final resting place of many famous people in Japanese history, including Tokugawa Yoshinobu, the last shogun of Japan, and the novelist Ichiyo Higuchi. The cemetery has a peaceful atmosphere, with many trees, shrubs, and small gardens, making it a great spot for a stroll. Visitors can also explore the nearby Yanaka Ginza shopping street and Nezu-jinja Shrine to get a feel for the traditional neighborhood
