What to expect

Ueno Zoological Gardens is Japan's oldest and most visited zoo, home to over 3,000 animals from 300 different species. The zoo is located within Ueno Park, which also houses science, history, and art museums, as well as the scenic Shinobazu Pond. Activities: We visited Ueno Zoo, located in Ueno Park in central Tokyo. We saw the giant panda, elephant, rhinoceros, tiger, giraffe, and monkeys. It is a bit cramped, so the animals are sometimes in somewhat cramped quarters

Highlights: We enjoyed seeing the animals, especially the giant panda. It was nice to have a change of pace from the city ✨
