Odaiba is a popular shopping and entertainment district on a man-made island in Tokyo Bay. It originated as a set of small man-made fort islands, which were built in the late Edo Period to protect Tokyo against possible attacks from the sea. The island offers excellent views of the Tokyo skyline, particularly impressive after dark, and features a man-made beach, several large hotels, shopping malls, and the Fuji TV Building. Visitors can enjoy seaside sports such as paddle boarding and windsurfing, and take part in events like the Odaiba Marathon and the Lantern Festival. The area is also home to the Tokyo Big Sight convention center and several upmarket hotels. Odaiba Seaside Park provides a great spot for relaxation, with a sandy beach, grassy lawns, and an observation deck. The park also features a miniature replica of the Statue of Liberty and offers stunning views of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo's harbor
