What to expect

The Imperial Palace is the main residence of the Emperor of Japan, located in the Chiyoda district of Tokyo. It is a large park-like area with several buildings, including the Fukiage Palace, the main palace, and various residences of the Imperial Family. The palace grounds and gardens are built on the site of the old Edo Castle and contain many gardens, moats, earthen and stone walls, watch towers, and fortified gates. The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace are open to the public and feature various buildings, including the Tenshudai, Tokagakudo Concert Hall, and Suwano-chaya Tea House. The palace is a significant historical and cultural site, with many remnants of the old Edo Castle still visible
