Kosho-ji Temple is a Soto Zen temple in Uji, Kyoto, and is considered the earliest training monastery in Japan. The temple was originally founded by Dogen Zenji in 1233, but was later rebuilt in its current location in 1645. The temple grounds are constructed in the Shichido Garan style and feature a majestic and tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can experience various activities such as Zazen sessions, sutra tracing, and overnight visits to the temple. The temple is also known for its impressive fall colors, with a tunnel of maple trees leading up to the temple. The temple has a nice garden and a five-storied stone pagoda, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
