Lake Ashi, also known as Ashinoko, is a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a crater lake that lies along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mount Hakone, a complex volcano that last erupted 3000 years ago. The lake is famous for its impressive view of Mount Fuji, which can be seen on a clear day. Visitors can take a boat tour on one of the pirate ships or swan paddle boats to enjoy the scenery. The lake is surrounded by mountains and offers many walking trails and scenic views. The nearby Hakone Shrine is a popular destination, with its iconic red torii gate standing on the lakeshore. The former summer palace of the Imperial Family, now known as Onshi Hakone Park, is also located near the lake and offers many walking trails and scenic views
