Enoshima Island is a small offshore island located in Sagami Bay, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is connected to the mainland by a 389-meter-long bridge and is part of the city of Fujisawa. The island is dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten, who is believed to have created the island and subdued a five-headed dragon that was terrorizing the area. Enoshima Island offers various attractions, including Enoshima Shrine, a botanical garden, an aquarium, beaches, and an observation tower with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Visitors can also explore the island's caves, which were formed by wave erosion and feature a romantic spot called Lover's Hill. The island has a rich history, having been a popular destination for day-tripping Tokyoites during the Edo Period, and it continues to be a popular resort area today
