What to expect

The Cascata delle Marmore, also known as Marmore Falls, is a tiered, man-made waterfall in Italy, created by the Romans in 271 BC. At 165m tall, it is the largest man-made waterfall in the world. The waterfall is located near Terni, in the region of Umbria, and is formed by the Velino River, which plunges into the Nera River, descending from Lake Piediluco. Visitors can access the falls from two different points: the Lower Belvedere and the Upper Belvedere, and explore six fascinating, well-marked trails that allow them to admire the cascades from different perspectives and enjoy breathtaking scenery. The falls are turned on and off according to a set schedule, achieving a spectacular effect at full flow. The area also offers various outdoor activities such as rafting, canyoning, and kayaking, as well as guided tours and visits to caves and karst formations
