The Museo di Storia Naturale di Firenze is a natural history museum with six major collections. The museum features a range of exhibits, including a large herbarium, a collection of geological and paleontological specimens, a mineralogy and lithology collection, an anthropology and ethnology museum, and a zoology collection with a vast array of specimens and wax anatomical models. The museum is home to over 3 million zoological specimens, with about 5,000 on public display, and a further 3,000 specimens in the hall of skeletons. The collection of wax anatomical models is of particular interest, with about 1,400 models on public display. The museum also has a botanical garden, Europe's third oldest, containing some 9,000 plant specimens
