Monte Pez is the highest mountain of the legendary Sciliar Massif, with an elevation of 2,564 meters. The massif mainly consists of sedimentary rocks from the Middle Triassic. The panoramic view from the summit extends from the Alpe di Siusi and the surrounding Dolomites to the Marmolada, the highest mountain of the Dolomites. Several hikeable mountain passes and trails lead to the summit, including the Prügelweg path and the Touristensteig path. The region is part of the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park in the Dolomites, a World Heritage site. The area offers various hiking routes, some of which are demanding and require sure-footedness due to scree and snow. However, the scenic views and the possibility to admire the majestic Dolomites make it a great destination for families and experienced hikers
