Castello Beseno

Castle Besenello, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

What to expect

Castel Beseno is the largest feudal fortress in Trentino, located on a hilltop between Rovereto and Trento. The castle has a long and turbulent history, with many battles taking place within its walls, including the famous Battle of Calliano in 1487. Today, the castle is open to the public and features a permanent exhibition illustrating the Battle of Calliano, as well as temporary exhibitions, events, and historical re-enactments. Visitors can stroll along the broad tournament field, enter the patrol walkway, and enjoy the marvelous view of the Adige valley. The castle also offers guided tours and educational activities for families. The castle is accessible for wheelchair users, with some barriers and facilities available
