Giardino Bellini

The Giardino Bellini, also known as Villa Bellini, is a beautiful urban park in the heart of Catania. It is the oldest public garden in the city and features various statues, fountains, and flowery meadows. The park has a long history, dating back to the 18th century when it was owned by Prince Ignazio Paternò Castello. In 1854, the municipality of Catania purchased the area and transformed it into a public garden. The park is home to a white marble bust of Vincenzo Bellini, a famous Sicilian composer, and features an Avenue of Illustrious Men with busts of important historical figures.
