Porto Flavia is a unique sea harbor located near Nebida in the Iglesias comune of South Sardinia in Italy. It was built in 1923-24 as a mineral production hub and is named after Flavia Vecelli, the daughter of the harbor's engineer and designer Cesare Vecelli. The harbor features two superimposed tunnels and nine huge vertical reservoirs for the processed ore, making it an outstanding engineering feat. Visitors can explore the mining site through guided tours, which last about 50 minutes and include a walk through the upper gallery and a staircase with 108 steps to the lower gallery. The site is not recommended for pregnant women and people with motor and cardiac problems. Sporty clothing and closed, comfortable shoes are recommended. Pets are not allowed, and children under one year of age must be transported with a front baby carrier and protective headgear
