The Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci is the largest science and technology museum in Italy, dedicated to painter and scientist Leonardo da Vinci. The museum is divided into seven main departments: Materials, Transport, Energy, Communication, Leonardo da Vinci, Art & Science, New Frontiers, and Science for young people. Each department has laboratories, especially for children and young students. The Transport section is made up of four different parts: air, rail, water, and submarine. The museum also features a collection of aircraft, including a Farman 1909 replica and an original Macchi MC 205 V, as well as a submarine, the Enrico Toti-S-506. The Energy section is dedicated to energy sources and devices, with a thermoelectric power station and an oil industry/petrochemistry section. The Communication section is divided into three areas: Astronomy, Telecommunication, and Sound. The Leonardo da Vinci, Art & Science area exhibits many Leonardo machines reproductions and a jewelry collection.
