The Duomo di Milano, or Milan Cathedral, is one of the world's largest Gothic cathedrals, located in the heart of Milan. It is 515 ft long and 302 ft wide, and can house up to 40,000 people. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete, with construction beginning in 1386 and finishing in 1965. The exterior is made of white and pink marble, and the roof is covered in openwork pinnacles and spires crowned with sculptures. The interior is elegant and stately, with large sculpted marble columns and large paintings adorning the walls. Visitors can climb to the rooftop terrace for panoramic views of the city, and explore the crypt and treasure. The cathedral is also home to many important artifacts, including a nail used in the Crucifixion of Christ and the skeleton of Saint Charles Borromeo
