Piazza De Ferrari is the main square of Genoa, situated in the heart of the city between the historical and the modern center. The square is renowned for its fountain, which was restored in recent years along with a major restyling of the square. Today, the square is surrounded by numerous office buildings, headquarters of banks, insurances, and other private companies, making it the financial and business center of Genoa. The square has an irregular form due to urbanistic works that united two different urban areas and is about 11,000 m2 in size. At the center of the square is a bronze fountain built in 1936, which has become one of the main symbols of the city. The square is now almost entirely pedestrian-friendly, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
