Villa Borghese Gardens

Garden Rome, Latium, Italy

What to expect

Villa Borghese is a landscape garden in Rome, containing several buildings, museums, and attractions. The gardens were developed for the Villa Borghese Pinciana, built by the architect Flaminio Ponzio, and were remade in the late 19th century. The park features several villas, including the Casino Nobile, which houses the Borghese Gallery, one of the most captivating museums in Rome. The gallery contains a prestigious collection of art, including works by Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael, and Caravaggio, as well as sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova. The park also features the Garden of the Lake, where visitors can rent a boat and admire the Temple dedicated to Aesculapius, and the Piazza di Siena, where the famous horse show and Carabinieri carousel take place. The park is a great place to visit with family and friends, offering a peaceful escape from the city and a chance to explore its many attractions
