The Roman Forum is a rectangular forum surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings at the centre of the city of Rome. It was the centre of day-to-day life in Rome, the site of public meetings, law courts, and gladiatorial combats in republican times, and was lined with shops and open-air markets. The Forum features many ancient structures, including the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of the Deified Caesar, the Mamertine Prison, the Curia, the Temple of Saturn, the Temple of Vesta, the Temple of Romulus, the Arch of Titus, the Arch of Septimius Severus, and the Cloaca Maxima. Visitors can explore the archaeological heart of Rome, including the Roman Forum, the Imperial Fora, and the Palatine, and discover the history and significance of this ancient site
